Timing…it’s never too late
When the time is right, it’s right…
She said, “I’ve had your card in my purse for 10 years, and I thought now might be a good time.”
I love these phone calls. I can just feel that business card, moving from one purse to another—old purse, new purse—tucked into an inside pocket, somehow surviving every clean-out. For some reason, she just couldn’t throw it away. It meant something to her.
There are so many emotions wrapped up in the act of holding on to a business card for 10 years. Hope. Fear. Excitement. Courage. Shame. Anticipation. I imagine her pulling it out every now and then, holding it in her hands, wondering, Is it time? Now? No… yes? Maybe? And then gently tucking it back in again—for another day.
And now, 10 years later… she calls.
Perfect timing, don’t you think? Timing is such a tricky thing. The shoulds and shouldn’ts can be so convincing, so “helpful.”
“You really should do this.”
“It would be so good for you.”
Which eventually turns into, “What’s wrong with you? Why haven’t you done this yet?”
But here’s the thing—we can’t bully ourselves into doing what’s good for us. Have you noticed that?
We do it when the time is right.
And for this woman, the time was right.
By the way, she has a beautiful voice—just waiting to be uncovered, moved, cleared, expressed, and aligned. Like we all do.
No big deal, really. Just the whole body opening up to hold the beauty of existence. Just the gentle releasing of energy that’s been stuck and hidden for a decade or more. Just the allowing of the sweet nectar of our energy to stretch out and pour through us.
No biggie.
