Beauty & Small Miracles

This week was once again filled with beauty and small miracles — the simplicity of the right note, at the right time, in the right context, finding the right body.

In one-on-one sessions, in-person groups, and online.

People who are used to working hard to figure out “what’s wrong” begin to realize that sometimes a simple sound can shift everything. When energy is blocked or log-jammed in one place, it often triggers an old wound or injury. And sometimes the miracle is simply this: the energy moves. It moves through and beyond the stuck place, creating a new pathway that didn’t exist before.

It never gets old.
Because I feel it too. In me.

I receive the movement of their energy in my own body — and I get the benefit of it as well.

We carry so much in the voice: the words we didn’t say in the moment, early childhood wounds, the freeze response so many are living in because of old trauma. All of this adds up to not responding freely in the moment — and not being able to fully use the voice when we sing.

What happens in these sessions can feel almost surgical. By that I mean listening carefully to the energy that is present and finding the precise sound, note, movement, or expression that helps it shift.

Trauma and old injuries are looking for completion in us. Resolution can take many forms — and I won’t sugarcoat it. Sometimes it’s tough. Sometimes it takes a string of notes, releases, even screams. Sometimes it takes time.

But when you’re ready — truly ready — to let go, it can take just one note to tip you into resolution. One note and suddenly it feels like a new day.

Either way, it’s the notes that carry you there.
One at a time.

Each note softens. Soothes. Releases.
Uncovers rage.
Discovers peace.

And before you think you need to be able to sing — you don’t.

Can you speak?

Yes?

Then you already have everything you need.
