We are like trees…

Twisting around life the best we can. Twisting, growing, bending and changing into the beautiful works of art that we are.

She said, ‘but how do I untwist myself?’

She didn’t know she was twisted and closed off until she tried to sing again.

We don’t know do we? Until we try to sing and feel the caught and held voice, and the lack of breath that we need to support the beauty and love that is attempting to come out of its hiding place.

To join, to connect, be seen and heard.

It’s not an all or none event. Opening again that is. It can’t be.

The process of opening again to the magnificence of your life energy and light needs to be slow and loving, or, you’ll retract and re-twist up again.

We’re all afraid of the thing that already happened,’ says Elizabeth Gilbert author of Eat, Pray, Love. And if we rush and push we will trigger this happening inside of our nervous system again.

However it can happen quickly if we don’t push and make unreasonable demands of ourselves.

Otherwise we misunderstand the protective and natural choices we’ve had to make to twist and curl ourselves into an armchair, a car, a bed, a relationship.

To belong, to feel safe, doing the best we can.

So untwist if you like or don’t, either way you are and will always be. Loved.
